Our learners share that the feel ‘seen, included and known’ as learners. We pride ourselves on our positive relationships.

Positive relationships help learners feel secure, ready to learn:

  • Knowing each learner as an individual.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and self-regulation.
  • Celebrating progress, however big or small.
  • Encouraging pupil voice, choice and independence.

“Sandwick has been a big part of our lives. We’ve grown up together, made friendships and memories that we’ll take with us, and had teachers who have supported us along the way. The staff really know us and that feels special and rare.” S4 Leaver, 2026.

Partnership & Community

Our mission is to collaborate with families, partner schools, colleges and other professionals to create meaningful opportunities for learners.

Parent & Carer Council (PACC): We have an active and progressive PACC who support the school with all aspects of partnerships from SMUHA, School Discos, Fundraising, Resourcing and improving our local environment.

At Sandwick, we believe that every learner deserves to feel safe, valued, included and supported to achieve their full potential. Our ethos is built on positive relationships, respect for individuality and a shared commitment to inclusion. We recognise that every learner is unique, with their own strengths, interests and aspirations, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.

Through nurturing relationships, flexible learning environments and close partnerships with families and wider professionals, we aim to ensure that every learner is supported to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need for life beyond school.
